The role of physicians in an evolving healthcare climate was the eagerly anticipated topic for conversation at the most recent Duke-NUS Dialogue on 12 April. The event drew 65 attendees, including Duke-NUS alumni and students as well as leaders from Duke-NUS, SingHealth and the Ministry of Health, who were keen to hear from Distinguished Speaker Professor Kenneth Mak, Director-General of Health at the Ministry of Health in Singapore who talked about Singapore’s future-ready doctors.
“Prof Mak shared unique insights about the meaning of our role as physicians in this changing healthcare climate, and his reflections resonated with many regardless of career stage. Hearing from someone who’s been in our shoes and is now making policies that will impact Singapore’s healthcare landscape, it was helpful to understand the bigger picture from his perspective.”
